Most of Devesh’s calls start with a daughter or son, often in another state, who has just heard what a care home costs a month. He listens, then asks to meet the parent.
His plans are written for families, not lawyers: what to spend, what to leave alone, and what the agency will ask for. He puts the adult children on the video call when the parent agrees, so everyone hears the same thing.
He visits parents at home and in care homes around Des Moines, and works by video with families across the state and into Nebraska.
